Garment Care Guide

Fine tailoring and hand embroidery are designed to last for years, and a little care goes a long way. These guidelines apply to most of our pieces.

Cleaning

Dry clean only. Choose a specialist who is experienced with embroidered and beaded garments, and let them know that the piece carries raised embroidery. Do not machine wash, wring or tumble dry.

Pressing and steaming

Use light steaming to release travel creases, ideally from the reverse side of the fabric. Avoid pressing an iron directly onto raised embroidery, beads or metal work.

Storage

Store your garment on a wide, padded hanger in the breathable garment bag it arrived in, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Metal thread and beadwork are best kept dry.

Wearing your piece

Apply perfume, deodorant and hairspray before dressing, and allow them to dry fully. Avoid contact between raised embroidery and rough surfaces, jewellery clasps or bag straps that could snag the work.

Travelling with your garment

If you need to fold your garment, interleave the folds with acid-free tissue and avoid pressing on the embroidered areas. Steam gently on arrival.

A note on handwork

Hand-applied embroidery can vary slightly between pieces. This is inherent to genuine handwork. Learn more about the craft behind our 3D embroidery.
